About Passing the Mic

Run by Chris Low, Passing the Mic is a mentorship program focused on creating opportunities for West Coast Swing community members of all levels to try their hand at MCing, DJing, and judging.

MC APPRENTICE OPPORTUNITY

Apply to train under Chris Low! Chris is not only the program creator but also the head MC for Bend Connection. You'l have the opportunity to MC a contest at The Bend Connection with the hands on support of Chris!

You'll meet with Chris before, during and after the event to get your questions answered and get real world support.

JUDGING APPRENTICE OPPORTUNITY

Spots available: 2

Apply to train under Wren Newman! Wren is the contest coordinator for the Bend Connection, and has an impressive resume of judging and head judging many events. You'll have the opportunity to mock judge as many events as you'd like over the course of the weekend.

You'll also meet with Wren before, during and after the event to get your questions answered and get real world support.

DJ APPRENTICE OPPORTUNITY

Apply to train under Ray Byun! Ray is the head DJ for the Bend Connection and has a lengthy resume of DJing and head DJing events around the country. You'll have the opportunity to have a real DJ shift in the main ballroom of BendX under the oversight of Ray! 

You'll meet with Ray before, during and after the event to get your questions answered and get real world support.
